The Remo Recreational Music Center in North Hollywood has graciously allowed their space to be used for a SteelCircle Event for Hang, Halo and Caisa (and Bellarts Bell if anyone has one). . The space is really fun, I've gone there with my family for some of their open drum circles. The space is reserved for us from 7-9pm.

The vision of this SteelCircle gathering is more of an organized circle/performance instead of the 'Encounter' oriented L.A. gatherings that we've hand in the past. If anyone has a piece they'd want to play, we will start with performances, and then move to a circle/exchange with a few basic melodies and a chance for all players to add their spice. We will finish with open play in the space with steel and small percussion (shakers, etc) for all attendees.
I played a lot of Idiophones including Bones & Spoons (Even 4 pair of bones at once!) Rattles, Shakers, Spatulas, Pie Servers, Pitchfork and Body Slapping as well as as well as Bodhran, Ashiko, Snare, and some vocals. I did a LOT of layered percussion this time, which is a lot of fun in a nice studio.

We've posted 3 full tracks from the new CD to our MySpace page: www.myspace.com/circledbyhounds
hardwood spoons, metal spoons, etc.

I did an improvisation in a recording studion the first night I met Artis the Spoonman. I saw him at a concert and was very inspired and had access to a professional recording studio so we went in and set up a whole
utensil orchestra on either side of an isolation booth. I had already been into the concept of a 'found' untensil 'marimba' and have a lot of trapset stick drumming skills so I was able to hold my own with the amazing Artis.

Oh yeah, and i have a nice set of crystal glasses for glass harmonica
and a very nice musical saw which I"m just starting to learn how to play.

A zillion struck idiophones (wood blocks, claves, et. al.)

A very nice collection of jaw harps (including some beautiful concert tuned ones from Hungary and a plethora of Indonesian bamboo ones.
